All charges are to be calculated according to the higher of actual or volumetric weight as specified in the Terms and Conditions.

Fuel Index Surcharge (FSI)
TNT applies an index-based surcharge to all shipments. This approach provides our customers with a fair and transparent charging mechanism for fuel costs.
Please note that this surcharge is not included in the price quoted by the Rate Calculator tool on this website.
Enhanced Security Surcharge
TNT has implemented additional procedures, activities and investments to safeguard our customers' shipments while in our custody, following recent well-publicized incidents involving the international transportation of shipments containing illegal explosive devices. To partially offset the additional costs, an Enhanced Security Surcharge has been applied as of January 1, 2011, onward.
In the US, an ESS of $0.04/lb. will be applied to all shipments transported internationally. The ESS has a minimum charge of $0.70 and maximum charge of $14.00 per consignment.

Calculate the volumetric weight of your shipment
The volumetric weight of a shipment is a calculation that reflects the density of a package. A less dense item generally occupies more volume of space, in comparison to its actual weight. The volumetric or dimensional weight is calculated and compared with the actual weight of the shipment to ascertain which is greater; the higher weight is used to calculate the shipment cost.
Volumetric Weight = L (cm) x H (cm) x W (cm) divided by 5000
Additional customs clearance charges are applicable for goods with value of over 1000 USD, A charge of 50 USD
